EDIT 3/24/2022: I will not be repairing these units upon request any longer, and comments on this page have been disabled. The full information to repair the units is linked at the bottom of this page, for you to use yourself or to provide to another electronics repair person.
As a follow-up to my previous post regarding the Takamine AAP repair, I’ve created a YouTube video. When I first began repairing these, I hadn’t yet started filming my process. I put up a post on the Takamine Guitars Facebook group asking for some to repair so I could film. Of course, it worked!
I filmed this in January but hadn’t gotten around to quick-editing it yet. kdenlive, which is a FLOSS video editing software from the good folks at the KDE project, is coming a bit easier to me now. It reminds me a bit of Final Cut Pro, and for my amateur level videos it’s more than adequate. Soon, I’d like to get different mount for the GoPro so I can show different angles.
kdenlive is also available as a Windows application if anybody wants to give it a go — it’s free to download after all. I’m also including the links to the repair document here again, for convenience:
